Howley Foundation to Award 5 Additional Scholarships
Howley Family to provide scholarships to 10 Trinity High School students

Trinity High School is excited to announce that the Howley Scholars Program will award scholarships to 5 students of the Class of 2025, in addition to the scholarships The Howley Foundation awarded to 5 students of the Class of 2024 in 2020. The scholarships total $16,000 for each student ($4,000 scholarships renewable for all four years of high school at Trinity) and will help ensure that these families have the necessary financial resources to receive a college preparatory education, and gain real world work experience through Trinity’s transformational Pre-Professional Internship Program.

“We are so blessed that The Howley Foundation continues to support our beautiful students and sees the importance of the role Trinity plays in our community and Cleveland’s workforce,” said Sister Shawn Lee, Trinity President. “The Howley Foundation’s support has changed the educational trajectory of young men and women from low socioeconomic backgrounds for many years, and it is what we strive to do each day educating all of our students.”

The Howley family believes that a high-quality education combining strong academics and character formation are vital to becoming a productive, self-sustaining individual. Their focus is to make sure that a lack of opportunity or resources does not stand in the way of that pursuit for young people.  The Howley Foundation’s financial support will significantly assist young men and women with high school tuition while becoming college ready and career prepared during their 4 years at Trinity.

PJ Reindel, Executive Director of The Howley Foundation, is impressed with Trinity’s commitment to our students. “Trinity faculty and staff are very committed to the success of the students, and having the young men and women both college prepared and career ready. We expect to expand the number of scholarships at Trinity significantly over time as The Howley Foundation helps continue Trinity’s long history of educating our youth, especially those from underserved communities.”

Each Howley Scholar will need to maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0, participate in and meaningfully contribute to extracurricular activities, and maintain good standing with Trinity High School.

“The Howley Foundation’s philanthropic spirit is vital for so many to ensure a strong education, and an opportunity for a successful future,” said Linda Bacho, Trinity High School Principal. “We are so grateful for their belief in our mission to develop Servant Leaders, Critical Thinkers and Life-Long Learners in our community.”

About The Howley Foundation

Started by Nick and Lorie Howley in 2003, The Howley Foundation was founded to award academic scholarships and provide tuition assistance to students.  In addition to supporting the Cristo Rey Network and other uniquely effective education models, The Foundation currently assists more than 700 elementary, high school, and college students in Cleveland and Philadelphia. They primarily provide four-year high school scholarships and fund meaningful programs at elementary schools serving underprivileged students. They have recently begun to fund College and University Scholarships. Believing that a strong education is essential to becoming a productive and independent adult, the Howley family developed their Foundation to respond to the needs of underserved students in search of a strong education.
